New SNF Grant

SNF-Grant Awarded for Research on the role of microRNAs in social behaviour

The SNF awarded more than 800.000 CHF over the next four years to the laboratory of Prof. Schratt to study the function of a cluster of microRNAs, small non-coding RNAs which regulate the expression of other genes, in mouse sociability. A major goal of the project is to explore the potential of microRNA inhibitors to restore social function in pre-clinical models of autism-spectrum disorder. This could pave the way for the development of novel therapeutics in autism-spectrum disorders and other disorders with compromised social function.
